New 5-star review of 'Gaslit Shadows'

By Teri N. on September 9, 2015
Format: Paperback
Having lived in Nawlin's when I was younger
I can relate to the love that Melanie has for
the Crescent City. These poems brought back
wonderful memories of my time in the city and
reignited a yearning for the mystery and intrigue
of the Big Easy.

I adore this book! When I'm missing nola I
curl up with this and a cup of coffee and I'm
*there*. Evocative, sultry and sexy; this petite
book of poetry is phenomenal.

Beautifully written, heart felt musings about a
city that generally gets a bad rap. It takes on a

someone who loves where they live and brings

A new 5-star Amazon review for 'Dark Days, White City'

July 17, 2015
Format: Paperback

I really enjoyed reading this collection
of poems by Melanie P. Falina.
"Dark Days, White City" does a wonderful
job of capturing the harshness of Chicago’s
winters and at the same time the beauty of
them. The photos that she's included are
beautiful. I highly recommend reading it,
you'll enjoy it!

A wonderful new 5-star review for 'Dark Days, White City' on Amazon...

June 28, 2015 via Amazon.comFormat: Paperback

The poems in “Dark Days, White City” capture Falina’s memories and sentiments as well as the harshness of Chicago’s winters. The intensity of such extreme weather is described in vivid detail, yet manages to convey a sense of elegance as well. The accompanying photos are beautiful, and they remind us that beauty can be found in bitter circumstances. An added bonus are the older works found at the end of the book. I especially enjoyed the mysterious story “In search of Peacock Alley.” It left me wanting to read more.

'Whispers In The Courtyard' is here! 80-New Orleans inspired poems all in one book!

As my four books of poetry were published individually some people asked if there would one day be a printing of all four together - like an anthology. Well, that day has arrived!
If you'd rather read all the poetry from 'Gaslit Shadows,' 'French Quarter Rain,' 'Crescent City Fog,' and 'Vieux Carré Days' (80 poems in all) in one book rather than purchasing four separate books then 'Whispers In The Courtyard' is for you!
(And it makes a great gift for NOLA-lovers too!)

A new review of 'Crescent City Fog'

What people are saying about Crescent City Fog...

Format: Paperback
I haven't been to New Orleans in years, but it holds
a special place in my heart. Crescent City Fog took
me right back to the Big Easy without me even leaving
my living-room. Falina clearly loves NOLA and it shows
in spades. I really loved this collection of poems because
it created such a vivid atmosphere.
Falina's poetry was so captivating, I'm now planning my
next trip to the Crescent City and craving some beignets.

What people are saying about Crescent City Fog: Poems inspired by New Orleans

A new review of 'Crescent City Fog'...
Format: Paperback
"The poems in Crescent City Fog are a nice blend of emotions,
observations, memories, and experiences in New Orleans. This
is the fourth of such books by [Melanie P.] Falina, but somehow
these poems seem to convey a little more tenderness than the others.
Indeed, this collection is a very engaging and pleasurable read."
